Description

This green colour paithani has small circular buttis with goden zari on body. It has a thick border with parrot(muniya)on it. It has a heavy pallu with two large peacock buttis and golden zari.
The Paithani Sarees are a timeless classic. These sarees are made of silk and Zari. This silk is of superior quality and has a smooth finish. Paithani is distinguished by an oblique square design and a Padar with a peacock design. It is available in both plain and spotted(buttis) on body variety. Some sarees have a kaleidoscopic effect which is obtained by weaving with one colour lengthwise and another colour widthwise.
Three shuttle weaving is adopted, two for the border and one for the body. As a result, it seems as though the border was first stitched to the sari’s body before being independently woven.
Silk is used in the final piece. Gold threads are used so much that when closely viewed the surface appears to be made of mirrors.
