Inspired by Odisha’s glorious maritime legacy, this handwoven silk saree celebrates the fearless Sadhabas—the ancient Odia merchants who sailed across the seas to Southeast Asia. Folklore recounts that these precious silks were carefully rolled inside hollow bamboo to protect them from sea salt during their long voyages.
The woven motifs evoke the constellations that once guided their ships across the Bay of Bengal, transforming the night sky into timeless textile art.
Finished with a graceful Patli Pallu and paired with a vibrant contrast yellow Bandha blouse piece, this saree is a tribute to Odisha’s rich weaving heritage, where every thread tells a story of exploration, craftsmanship, and enduring tradition.
